Food was great, vides were great, the service was also very good. You have to order at the front but that's no issue. Lots of great options would eat again.
The best Mexican food in town. Excellent quality and service. Family owned. Love this place. The only negative is that it is a bit expensive so I no longer order my favorite meal.
My boyfriend's favorite place to get tacos in KC. It is typically pretty busy when we go but they always get us our food quickly. He usually gets the Tres Amigos combo that comes with 3 soft tacos, rice and beans. They are generous with their portions and are always very friendly!! It is usually a lively and bustling place and I would highly recommend if you want authentic Mexican food in Kansas City.
Wow, I mean, simply wow.... I just finished, quite possibly, the single most delicious and satisfying breakfast burrito of my life. No hyperbole, it really was that good. Chorizo, potatoes, eggs, cheese, sliced avocado, and an orange(??) crema. It was so amazingly good, I kept involuntarily uttering sounds after each bite like "mm...mmm...mmmm!!". The women working there were patient and efficient and the vibe is no frills, just a place to get a good meal. They call it the California burrito, which means it is wrapped and not covered in sauce...and probably the avocado slices too...but it would be nice if they used straight foil, like the taquerias in California, so I can hold and eat with one hand, peeling away bite-width layers as needed. They used the diner-standard paper-lined foil wrap and it doesn't tear as neatly and easily. Also, they gave it a slice right through the middle, which disrupts the integrity of the wrap, so no single-handed consumption this day. "But Jim, why not five stars if it's so good?", you say. Well, two reasons, no one really believes the five star reviews, amiright? There is always room for improvement. Also, I have come in one time before and gotten the Burrito Grande breakfast burrito with bacon. It was good, but not amazing, like the burrito I recently finished. Good enough for me to come back to try the California style, but room for improvement... I don't know ya'll, but since I moved back to the area after living in San Jose, I have been trying to find a taqueria, or several, that have the same quality that I got used to living out in South Bay and I have been largely disappointed. So when I find a place that absolutely kills it on something, I get super stoked. I have rambled on long enough, but if you made it this far, go give these folks a try. They are doing it right and deserve the business. PS - The mango ice cream was fantastic. I had a taste of the mango chili, with Tajin and Chamoy, but the mango came through beautifully. I am regretful I resisted the urge to get a scoop of the straight mango....next time...
Legit. We recently relocated from Texas and have struggled with every Mexican restaurant we've tried. From Mission brand tortillas to soy sauce in the fajitas (???) it's all been just sad. We wanted to try one more place and came across Dos De Oros while looking for tacos. What sold us was the hole in the wall look. Man, some of the best places in TX are small tiny places in a random shopping center. They had it down. Friendly service and tacos were so good. Going to get some again today.
Hidden gem for authentic Mexican food! I placed a to go order at the counter, and it was ready within 10 minutes. Dos de Oros has a salsa/sauce bar so you can load up your own tacos with whatever you'd like. I went with a classic street taco combo and was very impressed by the quality of the food. I believe the will be moving locations soon, but I hope everyone has a chance to try some of the best tacos around in their new spot!
The tacos are the real deal! Cooked & served in a street truck style but from a restaurant. Clearly authentic Mexican favors & salsas. The place is not fancy but very good food!
My name is Amanda and I review nachos. Order: Nachos with pollo (grilled), no jalapenos. Ordered to go. Menu Description: Chips, jack & cheddar cheese, beans, jalapenos, cheese dip, your choice of meat, lettuce, tomato, cilantro, onion, sour cream, and jalapenos. Choice of meat includes: Adovada (marinated pork), Asada (steak), Pollo (grilled or shredded chicken), Barbacoa (shredded beef), Lengua (beef tongue +$1.99), Pastor (pork and pineapple), Molida (ground beef), Cabeza (beef head), Tripitas (beef tripe +$1.99), Carnitas (shredded pork), Chorizo (pork sausage). Style: Nacho pile. Initial impressions: Large portion, a whole lotta lettuce (see photo). Flavor: Chicken was tasty, grilled strips, all bite size narrow slices, presumably grilled after they were sliced. Cheese dip is savory and rich. The lettuce, tomato & cilantro lends requisite freshness for balance. Spice: Zero spice by default. Add back in the jalapenos, or explore their extensive hot sauce buffet to heat it up. Texture: Chips were light & crisp, yet somehow still managed to hold up to the toppings. Beans contribute a lot to texture, and there weren't enough of these. How to achieve the perfect bite: In the dead-center, there is a perfect intermingling of cheese dip and pinto beans that deliciously saturated the chips. Combine a dry chip from the edge to create an edible scoop. Perfect flavor/texture combo. Portion Size: Plenty to split in a group, but the best flavor is situated in the center of the nacho pile, so if you're having it as a meal I'd say it's best for 1, with leftover chips at the end. tl;dr: Hold the lettuce, extra beans. Would get again.
I've been a regular at this taqueria since 2012, and I just have to say...Dos De Oros has never failed to serve the BEST tacos and burritos in town. Consistent flavor and quality for a truly decent price. And, while they did bump their menu up a full $2 post covid, it's still worth the extra $$. This So-Cal girl is forever grateful. Some of my favorites: - California Burrito with Asada (steak) - Burrito Grande with Adovada (pork) - Corn Tacos They also have a fully stocked salsa bar with grilled veggies (AH-MAZING jalapenos and onions grilled to utter perfection). Also, be sure to check out their website for their weekly deals! Savings EVERY DAY!
